Basic Activities And Fish Species Timing.
May through July:
Best for king salmon, halibut, ling cod, yelloweye, and rockfish in saltwater. Humpback and killer whale, bald eagle and bear watching, crabbing and shrimping are peak at this time! Hiking, kayaking, photography are also excellent.
July through middle of August:
Best for halibut, pink, coho, chum, ling cod, yelloweye, and rockfish in saltwater. Prime time for freshwater fly or spin fishing for pink salmon, chum salmon, trout. Whale and bear watching available along with great crabbing and shrimping of course! Hiking, kayaking, photography are always activities groups may enjoy.
August to the end of Sept:
Best for coho and chum salmon, halibut, ling cod, yelloweye, and rockfish in saltwater. World class freshwater spin or fly fishing for coho’s and trout. Whale and bear watching, crabbing and shrimping! Hiking, kayaking, photography too.
*Most of these activities (often all) can be experienced throughout the season regardless of the fishing and adventure schedule, such as wildlife photography, hiking wilderness trails, kayaking the secluded coves, along with crabbing and shrimping.
